Fighting for the Future of
1.8 Million West Virginians.
Jeff Kessler's Senate career has been about people. Under his leadership and direction our children are being fed, thousands of in-state jobs have been created and an endowment fund has been set up to save millions of dollars a year through innovative oil and gas legislation for West Virginia's future.
Now imagine him as Governor.
Help Make a Difference
Jeff created the Select Committee on Children and Poverty which produced legislation that ensures every WV student receives nutritious meals. He supported the expansion of health insurance to 170,000 West Virginians, raised the minimum wage and helped eliminate the food tax.
Jeff sponsored the Economic Development Grant Committee and tax increment financing legislation that led to The Highlands and Cabelas project in Ohio County, Power Alley Park in Charleston, Pullman Square in Huntington, new schools in the Eastern Panhandle and the Blanchette Rockefeller Neurosciences Institute in Morgantown. The TIF model legislation has been replicated in Clarksburg, at the Greenbrier and in Monongalia County to create thousands of jobs and in-state investments.
West Virginia's road and bridges are crumbling and Jeff has a plan to fix them. Through his vision he created the WV Future Fund. It would dedicate a portion of our increased severance fees paid by extraction industries and put it into an endowment fund to address our longstanding needs. Also, Jeff knows that Southern West Virginia is in need of immediate help to diversify its economy, so he created the SCORE Initiative.
